GT65B: replacement 0.20 mm blade for the Mr. Line Chisel GT-65

GT65B is a replacement scribing blade 0.20 mm wide for the Gunze Mr. Line Chisel GT-65 scriber (Mr. Hobby / GSI Creos). The blade on its own is not a finished tool: without the GT-65 holder there is nothing to clamp it into. It serves for deepening, restoring and scribing panel lines in plastic, ABS, PVC and resin.

0.20 mm is a versatile medium width and in practice the one used most often. It suits aircraft in 1:48 and the ordinary panel lines of most models, the middle road between the coarse 0.30 mm and the fine 0.15 mm.

How to pick the width

• 0.20 mm: the all-rounder, 1:48 and ordinary panel lines.
• 0.30 mm: large scales, pronounced panels, large surfaces.
• 0.15 mm: fine lines, the small scales 1:72 and 1:144.
• Choose the width by scale: too coarse a line is distracting on a small model, too fine a one disappears on a large one.

For owners of the GT-65 scriber looking for an all-round blade for ordinary panel lines. You scribe by pulling toward yourself in several light passes, guided by a template or tape; the burr is then removed with fine abrasive paper or a sanding sponge.
