Diamond files with a titanium coating, three pieces

A set of three diamond files 140 mm long with 200 grit. The working face is set with diamond grains and finished with a titanium coating that raises its resistance to wear. Unlike an ordinary steel file, a diamond file also copes with hard materials on which a steel tooth quickly goes blunt.

Use

• Working resin and 3D printed parts that clog a steel file.
• Truing up metal parts, barrels and photo-etched parts.
• Smoothing casting blocks and print supports once they are cut off.
• Adjusting mating surfaces on hard materials.

Work tips

Work with a stroke in one direction and without much pressure, the diamond removes the material by itself. Wash a clogged file in water with a drop of detergent and let it dry; dried material in the grains reduces the bite markedly. On soft plastic, 200 grit is fairly coarse, so finish the surface with a finer abrasive afterwards. Do not store the files loose among your other tools, so that the working faces do not rub against each other.
