A Gunze Hobby Color acrylic modeling paint in a gloss red shade according to the American standard FS 11136.
Responsibility details are not available.
FS 11136 is a code from the American Federal Standard 595, in which a shade is described by five digits. The first of them gives the sheen: a one means a gloss surface, a two semi-gloss and a three matte. So it is a gloss red defined by a standard rather than a freely mixed tone, which means it can be repeated at any time and complemented by other paints listed under FS codes.
The FS standard is used above all on American equipment, where finish shades and markings are listed by it. A saturated gloss red serves on identification and warning elements, on small details of armament and equipment and anywhere an area has to be seen at first glance. It also comes into its own on accessories for a scene, on transport and fire service vehicles and on sports machines, where red is often the main color of the finish.
The paint belongs to the Gunze Hobby Color acrylic range. Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Apply it in thin coats onto a degreased, dust-free surface, ideally over a primer. Red shades cover less well than dark ones, so it pays to brighten the base beforehand with white or light gray and to add an extra coat rather than fewer. Sharp transitions on small areas can be handled with masking tape or a mask stuck down before spraying. For thinning, cleaning the tools and setting the airbrush, follow the instructions from the manufacturer on the packaging.
The paint alone is supplied. Thinner, primer, a final varnish and tools are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
