StuH 42 and StuG III Ausf. G Late Production 2in1 1:35 is a plastic kit from which you build either the StuG III assault gun of late production or the StuH 42 assault howitzer. Both metal barrels are in the package.

An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Takom offering two subjects to choose from. From one package you build one vehicle, either the StuG III Ausf. G assault gun of late production or the StuH 42 assault howitzer. The box states two metal barrels, that is 7.5 cm and 10.5 cm, and further photo-etched parts, link-and-length tracks built in sections and Schürzen sheet-metal side skirts.
The StuG III came about on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw. III tank as an assault gun with a fixed low superstructure and no turret. The Ausf. G version carried a 7.5 cm StuK 40 L/48 gun and was the most numerous form, built right up to the end of the war. Late production is recognized by a number of details, for example by the cast gun mantlet and simplified fittings. The StuH 42 assault howitzer used the same hull and superstructure but received a 10.5 cm howitzer in place of the gun, intended for destroying fortifications and for fighting in built-up terrain. Both vehicles served with the independent assault gun battalions.
Decide first which version you are building, because the choice of barrel and mantlet affects other parts of the superstructure as well. Finish the running gear and the interior of the fighting compartment while the parts are accessible. Assemble the link-and-length tracks in sections directly on the running gear, so that they seat correctly on the wheels. After the base color, layer dark yellow with shading from the airbrush, and for weathering use washes into the recesses and pigments for dust and mud.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
