HSM01 is a silver metal shade with a very fine pigment, which is what the words Super Fine in the name point to. It is exactly the size of the metal particles that decides whether an area looks like metal or like sprayed glitter. A fine pigment lies more densely in the surface, so the result stays continuous even on small parts.
Silver is the most used metal shade on models of all: areas of bare metal, engine cowlings, exhausts, hinges, the joints of robot kits, the edges of tools or worn places created with a dry brush. It also serves as an undercoat for the paint chipping technique, in which metal is laid under the covering coat and then exposed on the edges.
First smooth and even the surface out, because a metallic paint brings out every scratch and sanding mark. Stir the bottle thoroughly before use; metal particles sink to the bottom faster than an ordinary pigment. Apply thin coats and do not run a brush over a place that has started to set, otherwise streaks will form. A dried metallic layer takes masking tape less well than an ordinary coat; press the tape onto fabric and pull it off first so that it loses some of its tack, and then pull it off the model slowly.
The paint alone is supplied. Thinner, primer, varnish, brushes and a kit are not included, unless stated otherwise.
