This is a shade from the DRYBRUSH range, that is a paint intended for the drybrushing technique. That technique serves to pick out edges, projections and raised detail: the paint catches only on the raised places and the surface thereby gains depth to the eye. It comes in as a finishing step over a finished, dry coat.
Magenta is a saturated purple tone between red and violet. It comes into its own wherever a purple surface is to be given a lighter and livelier edge, that is on fabrics, cloaks, pennants and insignia, on the colored parts of armor or on elements of fantasy and science fiction equipment. It also serves well as a lightening over a dark red or purple base.
Pick up a small amount of paint on a stiffer flat brush and wipe almost all of it off on a paper towel. Only then pass over the surface of the model with light strokes. Work in layers and rather make several passes, because more can be added at any time whereas an excess is hard to remove. Stir the container before work. For this technique the paint is usually not thinned; if you do need a thinner, use the one the manufacturer gives for this range, in the ratio stated on the packaging.
