This roll from Hobby 2000 belongs to the For Curves range, that is to the flexible, stretchable branch of the line. Its whole point is a single one: it can be bent and stretched into a curve without wrinkling. Straight paper tape from the Precision range gathers into ripples on a curve and paint creeps under them, while flexible For Curves gives way and leaves a clean curved edge behind it. The width of 1 mm is narrow, holding its shape well on a curve while being more comfortable to work with than the narrowest variant. The roll holds 18 m. It is a modeling accessory, not a kit.
Household tape sticks as best it can, and on removal it takes the finish with it. Modeling tape, by contrast, has a low, deliberately set tack: it grips just enough for paint not to creep under it, but it will not damage a dry surface. Added to that is a sharply cut edge for a clean transition and the fact that it leaves no adhesive behind.
Let the tape follow the curve, only stretching it lightly, and press down its whole length at once, especially the inner side of the curve, where it likes to lift. After spraying thin coats, peel it off slowly and at a sharp angle back over itself, not straight up from the surface.
For modelers of aircraft, cars and vehicles who deal with curved lines. Reckon with needing the straight Precision range as well for a whole model, because the two complement each other: Precision on straight runs, For Curves on curves. For really tight radii, then reach for the even narrower 0.75 mm variant of this range.
