A metallic effect marker in a dark steel shade from Gaahleri. It lays a metallic shade straight onto a model with no brush and no mixing.
Responsibility details are not available.
Metallic shades are awkward to lay on a model with a brush: the pigment settles at the bottom, the strokes show and the surface comes out uneven. A marker gets round that problem. The paint goes straight from the tip, so mixing and washing a brush both fall away and it is laid exactly where it should be. The dark steel shade matches unpainted, slightly darkened metal: edges, barrels, chains, metal rims, scuffed places in the paint. Exactly where metal is only meant to show through, a marker is quicker and cleaner than a brush.
It suits modelers of military vehicles and figure painters for bringing out metal detail, and also wherever opening up a pot of metallic paint would not be worth the result. It also comes into its own on quick touch-ups and when working up scuffs on edges, where paint on a brush would leave a stroke.
