A metallic effect marker in a gun metal shade from Gaahleri. It lays a dark metallic tone straight from the tip, with no brush and no mixing.
Responsibility details are not available.
The gun metal shade is a dark, slightly bluish metal with a low sheen. On a model it stands for what was blued or chemically blackened on the real thing: barrels, breeches, armored belts, steel fittings, tools stowed on a hull. A marker lays that shade on straight from the tip. That does away with mixing a metallic paint, in which the pigment settles at the bottom, and with washing a brush, in which metallic paint stays even after rinsing and contaminates the next shade. The line goes exactly where it should, which on edges and small parts is what decides the result.
It suits modelers of military vehicles and figure painters who bring out the metal parts of gear and armament. It also comes into its own on quick touch-ups, where opening up a pot would not be worth the result, and when working up scuffs on the edges of a paint finish, where a brush would leave a visible stroke.
