A set of twelve separate metal dishes meant for breaking out and mixing modeling paints. Unlike plastic and paper, metal has no absorbent surface, stands up to solvents and does not warp, so the dishes last even with long-term use with enamel and lacquer paints. The individual dishes can be stacked and set aside with paint still in them.
Wipe a dish out right after work, as dried paint comes off metal less easily than off smooth plastic. Enamels and lacquers can be washed off with the matching thinner, acrylic with lukewarm water. When mixing a shade, always note the ratio down; a metal dish will not keep the recipe by itself. If you work with very fluid washes, count on the thinner evaporating faster in a shallow dish.
