Mr. Cement Fine Brush Set is a set of fine brushes for applying the thin glue of the Mr. Cement line. With this kind of glue the brush is the only thing standing between you and the seam: it decides whether a precise trace gets into it, or a drop that floods the detail around it.
A brush left standing in solvent cement goes hard at the heel in time, frays and stops holding a point. From that moment it no longer doses: it either picks nothing up or lets too much go at once. Replacing it brings the precision back to the work and takes less effort than repairing a surface the cement has attacked, because a dissolved plastic surface has to be rescued by sanding and repainting.
Fit the parts together dry first and press them against each other, and only then touch the seam from the outside with the brush. Thin glue draws itself into the joint and the joint pulls together. Always take a smaller dose than seems necessary; the surplus runs out onto the surface and leaves a dull mark in the plastic. Wipe the brush after the work and close the bottle properly, so that the solvent does not escape and the brush does not dry out in it.
