This shade is not a brilliant cold white. The manufacturer lists it as the white for racing cars, that is as a tone with a barely perceptible creamy undertone and with the gloss surface that the bodies of racing cars and sports prototypes had. The difference from a technical white is hardly noticeable at first glance, but side by side on one model it stands out at once: a pure white surface looks cold, this one warm and soft.
Builders of car models, racing machines and motorcycles will get the most work out of it. It also serves excellently, however, wherever white is meant to look older or used: on the fuselages of civil aircraft, on the superstructures of yachts, on ceramics and canvas in a diorama or on winter camouflage finishes, which were never perfectly clean. Because it is glossy, it takes polishing and it is the logical base under a clear coat.
Light shades cover less well than dark ones, so allow for a greater number of thin coats and, above all, for a light base. On gray plastic or over a dark surfacer, white asserts itself with needless effort; spraying a light primer first saves half the time and half the material. Behind the term lacquer range lies a solvent-based formula that dries within a few minutes, so a short pause between coats is enough. It is thinned with a product from the same brand at a ratio of one to two parts paint per part of thinner depending on the thickness, and it is applied with an airbrush. The formula of the range is not built for a brush.
