A red brown with two faces: an anti-corrosion red and a camouflage brown. It covers the underwater parts of hulls, the undersides of vehicles, bricks, leather and wood and serves as an excellent base under rust. Mr. Color, 10 ml.

A modeler knows this shade from two completely different worlds. On the one hand it is the classic anti-corrosion red used to paint the underwater parts of ship hulls, the undersides of vehicles and steel structures before the topcoat came. On the other it is the camouflage brown that German vehicles received from 1943 in the form of patches or stripes over a dark yellow base, usually together with an olive green.
Besides ships and armored vehicles it suits brickwork, fired roof tiles and clay vessels in a diorama, the leather harness and boots of figures, tool handles and reddish-brown earth. It is especially valuable as a starting layer for rust: the sprayed surface is then stippled irregularly with orange and dark brown pigments, and the result looks far more natural than rust painted from scratch. Under silver or another metal color it works as a warm base that takes the cold cast away from the metal.
The paint is intended mainly for an airbrush and takes even very fine atomization, so narrow camouflage stripes can be made from it without a template and without masking. The saturated pigment covers in one or two passes, which saves both material and the thickness of the layer over relief detail. Use a thinner from the same range and work with sufficient ventilation, because the base is an organic solvent. The dried semi-matte surface holds decals and setting solutions without silvering under them.
