Mr. Color - khaki green

Mr. Color C54 Khaki Green, 10 ml (Gunze)

A khaki green shade from the Mr. Color range of the Japanese manufacturer Gunze, also known as GSI Creos. The bottle holds 10 ml. Mr. Color is a lacquer system based on organic solvents, not a water-thinnable acrylic paint, and it has to be handled accordingly.

Thinning and compatibility

It is thinned only with thinners of the same range, that is, Mr. Color Thinner or Leveling Thinner. Neither water nor the thinner for the water-thinnable Aqueous range will thin the paint; they will ruin it. Gunze runs three mutually incompatible chemistries side by side: the C range as a lacquer, the H range as a water-thinnable acrylic and Acrysion with its own thinner. So tell them apart by the letter in the designation, not by the name of the shade.

Use

• Stir it carefully before work, the pigment settles at the bottom.
• With a brush one or two coats are usually enough, with an airbrush two or three.
• For the airbrush, thin the paint with the thinner of the same range.
• Let the paint dry properly between coats, otherwise the layer underneath will lift.
• A dried lacquer layer is hard and stands up to further lacquer coats over it.

Who it is for

For modelers of military vehicles and aircraft who work with lacquer paints and want a durable surface under masking and weathering. Lacquer paints tolerate masking tape well and stand up even to sharper refinement of the surface with an abrasive sponge.

A flammable liquid with organic solvents. Work with good ventilation, away from open flame, ideally with extraction.
