A light blue paint for the undersurfaces of aircraft and for light schemes. 10 ml, a lacquer formula intended for an airbrush, thinned with the brand's own thinner.
Responsibility details are not available.
A bright light blue with a slight cast toward white is the shade with which aircraft of many countries and periods were covered from below. The point of such a finish is simple: against the sky the machine should blend into the background, and the higher it flies, the lighter the blue that suits it.
Besides airframe undersurfaces the shade finds use on trainers, on civil and recreational aircraft, on the blue stripes of post-war American and British finishes and as a starting tone for mixing further light blues. In dioramas it also serves wherever you need to color a water surface toward the light or paint sky in the background.
Light shades have one property that has to be reckoned with: they cover less well than dark ones. Over dark plastic or over a gray primer allow for three thin coats instead of two, or lay white under the shade. It goes on thinly and nothing else: a saturated coat of light blue fills the engraved lines and the detail disappears.
The bottle holds 10 ml. The formula is based on a lacquer, and Mr. Color Thinner or the Leveling version is used for thinning, usually in a ratio of 1:1 to 2:1. Do not thin the paint with water. The range is intended above all for application with an airbrush and the dried surface is smooth, which makes it ideal for a following gloss coat under decals.
Before spraying a large light area, try the paint on a piece of scrap plastic. You will see the real saturation after drying, which differs from the look of a wet coat, and at the same time you will check the pressure and the amount of thinner before you point the gun at a finished model.
