A light brownish green shade for the radomes of combat aircraft. A lacquer paint in a 10 ml bottle that forms a characteristic contrast against a metal or gray fuselage on a model.

A radome has to let the transmitted waves through, so it is made of laminate rather than duralumin. That is why it is not finished with the same coating as the rest of the airframe and why it always stands out as an area of a different tone in photographs of combat machines. This shade captures exactly such a surface, a light brownish green tending toward beige.
It is characteristic of American tactical aircraft of the second half of the Cold War, where it appeared on noses and on antenna covers along the fuselage. It was used more widely, though, and you will find it on transport and reconnaissance types as well. Bear in mind that the finish differed with the maker of the cover and with the time a machine went through overhaul, so it always pays to compare a photograph of the particular subject.
The area tends to be small and sharply bounded, so it is nearly always masked. The lacquer binder of the line works in the modeler's favor here, because the film is hard once dry and the tape will not tear it off when removed. On the real machines the transition to the adjacent color is soft, so let the edge spray out gently on the model.
The 10 ml bottle lasts for dozens of noses, because only a fraction of it gets used. Stir the contents before use, thin with the lacquer thinner from the same line and apply with an airbrush. A weathered radome is finished off by lightening the center of the area slightly and by a darker tint toward the edges. On machines at the end of their service the cover is often scratched and patched, which is imitated with irregular patches of a slightly different tone. Do not forget that the neighboring antennas and their covers often carry the same finish as the nose.
