Mr. Procon Boy WA is a double action airbrush by the Japanese brand Gunze / Mr. Hobby, highly valued among modelers for its precision and quality. The Side Cup Special version has a side cup which, according to the manufacturer, can be fitted from the left as well as from the right. The nozzle is 0.3 mm in diameter.
The smaller 0.3 mm nozzle is meant for detail, fine lines, shading and smooth transitions, but it manages medium coverage as well. It is a general-purpose gun for modelers who want to cover most of the work with one tool, from fine effects to ordinary coats.
The side cup does not obstruct the view of the tip and allows the gun to be tilted and turned — it suits spraying from the top down, large models and poorly accessible places. The double action trigger controls the air (the press) and the paint (the pull) separately, so you have full control over the amount of paint on the move — from a thin line to a full area with one tool.
To run it you need a compressor with steady clean air and thinned paint. Clean the gun thoroughly after the work — dried paint ruins the nozzle. Suitable extras: a compressor, a hose, a cleaner and a thinner.
