Gunze Acrysion N098 Fluorescent Orange (fluorescent orange, gloss)

A water-thinnable acrylic paint from the Acrysion range by Gunze (GSI Creos), a 10 ml package. A fluorescent (neon) shade that glows and catches the eye — the typical signal orange. The N prefix marks the Acrysion range with its separate chemistry and its own thinner.

The key piece of advice — a white base

Fluorescent paints have weak covering power and are translucent. Always lay them over a white base (a white surfacer), otherwise they will not glow at full strength. The gloss version is more brilliant and holds decals well. In daylight and under UV light fluorescents fade gradually — a clear coat with UV protection will extend their life.

The chemistry and thinning

Acrysion (the N range) is a separate acrylic with its own Acrysion thinner — it is not thinned with a lacquer or an Aqueous thinner. It can also be thinned with water.

Who it is for

For modelers of rescue, racing and sci-fi hardware who want a saturated signal orange. It goes on with a brush as well as with an airbrush.
