About product

Aber photo-etched mesh 1.0 x 1.0 mm

This is a general-purpose photo-etched accessory, not a kit. Aber (a Polish maker of photo-etched parts) supplies a thin brass sheet with a regular mesh of an opening size of 1.0 x 1.0 mm. Square openings of a medium size belong among the most versatile grids of all.

What the mesh is for

Photo-etched brass mesh replaces coarsely molded plastic grilles with an accurate metal part. You will put the general-purpose 1.0 mm grid to use on the grilles of engine compartments, fan covers, radiators, baskets and protective screens. The material is thin, holds its shape and is easily cut to measure.

Usage tips

Cut the part out with sharp photo-etch scissors or break it off the sheet, and degrease the area beforehand. Glue the mesh with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or with epoxy; apply a metal primer before painting.

Who it is for

  • modelers who want to replace plastic grilles with accurate metal
  • for models of military vehicles, ships and aircraft in various scales
  • for general-purpose superdetailing

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other material are not included in the package.
