NGA-201 Acrysion Gundam Assemble Color (Shade Color) - Shade Balck

The color

Shade Black belongs among the shading shades of the Acrysion Gundam Assemble Color range. The range is divided into base shades, with which areas are painted, and shading shades; those are meant to deepen engraved lines, recesses and the transitions between parts. Black shading is the hardest of them. It gives contrast at once, but used too freely it dries the whole surface out toward gray, so it pays to reach for it only where the shadow is meant to be truly deep.

Where it is useful

It works best over light and cool surfaces. On a white, light gray or blue area it brings out the pattern of the engraved lines without shifting the tone beneath it toward brown. It looks natural where a shadow would fall in reality too: in the recesses between armor parts, inside nozzles, around joints and under the edges of overlapping parts.

Application tips

• Stir the paint thoroughly before use, the pigment settles at the bottom when left alone.
• It is thinned with the thinner meant for the Acrysion range; residues that have not dried can be washed off the tools with water.
• The exact procedure for laying the shading shades of this range down is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
• Try the shade on a single part or on a piece of leftover plastic first, not straight on the whole model.
• Add the shadow in coats; taking it away is only possible by repainting, adding is possible at any time.

Who it is for

For builders of robot kits and of other models with strongly drawn parts who want to bring the model out with a ready-made shading shade. The thinner, the base paints and the clear coat are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
