Plusmodel – 0.4 mm lead wire

Lead wire 0.4 mm in diameter from the Czech maker Plusmodel is a material for finishing touches and detailing. Lead is soft and shapes beautifully — the wire bends easily into whatever shape you need and holds it without springing back. That makes it right for realistic cabling, hoses, lines and antennas, the kind of parts many kits lack or that are worth adding.

Use

• Cables, hoses and lines on engines, landing gear and in interiors
• Antennas and fine wires wherever a natural sag and precise shaping are needed
• Cut the wire, bend it to shape and glue it in place (cyanoacrylate works best)
• The surface can be painted over with ordinary modeling paints
