A fluorescent orange from the Premium Color line by Vallejo. Fluorescent shades differ from ordinary ones in that their pigment converts part of the invisible radiation into light in the color of the shade. In daylight they therefore look as if they were glowing by themselves, and next to an ordinary orange they come across as strikingly richer. Do not confuse this with a light-charged glow paint that shines in the dark; this one needs daylight to do its work.
An orange of this kind belongs on surfaces that are meant to be seen from a distance: the warning bands of training aircraft, the markings of rescue equipment, the tips of propeller blades, the warning features of working machines and vehicles. It also works on modern racing cars and motorcycles, and anywhere in a scene where a small detail is meant to draw the eye.
Fluorescent pigments have weak coverage, so lay a white base down on the surface first; over a gray or dark base the shade loses exactly the spark it is bought for. Stir the bottle thoroughly before use and apply it in several thin coats. Bear in mind that fluorescent shades are less lightfast than ordinary paints, so do not display the finished model in direct sunlight. For thinning and the cleaning of tools, follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.
The paint is supplied on its own. A thinner, primer, clear coat and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Work in a ventilated room and store the bottle closed and out of the reach of children.
