Parasite Brown is a medium brown with a slightly reddish cast. It belongs among the shades used up fastest on the bench, because it covers leather straps and harness, belts, wooden axe handles, fur and saddle leather. A whole group of figures can be sprayed in one go, and only then the individual pieces distinguished by their details.
A figure that is picked up after every move loses its paint on the edges and on the rims of the gaming base sooner than anywhere else. The acrylic coat alone is not built for that; the protection is provided only by a final varnish. A matte one unifies the surface and hides the differences in sheen between shades, a satin one adds durability and lets the leather reflect light slightly, which acts naturally with this tone. Apply the varnish in two thin coats; one heavy coat will fill the engraved detail.
Besides the varnish a brush cleaner is useful, because even when working with an airbrush part of the finishing stays with a brush, and brown pigment washes out of bristles less readily. Then a measuring dropper for mixing doses, which makes it possible to repeat the same shade, and a brown wash for deepening the folds. Choose a medium gray ground; it lightens the shade less than a white one and will not let it run wild into orange.
On a larger assembly it pays to spray the bases in the same pass, while the figures are not yet set on them. That saves masking later and the edge between footwear and ground stays clean.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before every use, as settled pigment changes the saturation of the first strokes.
