Vallejo Parched Grass (Late) 17 ml - primer for an airbrush

This product belongs among the base preparations, not among opaque paints. It is a water-based acrylic primer in a 17 ml bottle that is applied to a bare model and prepares it for painting. The light ocher tone of parched grass is at the same time a practical base under desert and light camouflage shades, because it does not pull them toward gray the way a conventional gray base does. The word in the name refers to the later variant of the shade within the range.

Spraying with an airbrush

• The primer is ready to use. If you do thin it after all, use only a product meant for water-based acrylics and add it drop by drop.
• Spray at lower pressure and from a sensible distance; too great a distance means the droplets dry in flight and the surface turns coarse.
• Work in several misted passes rather than one wet coat - acrylic primer flows out enough by itself and only a thin layer keeps the edges.
• Clean the airbrush with water right after work and then with an acrylic cleaner; dried primer is far harder to get out of the nozzle.
• Let the layer cure before you mask over it with tape. The quality of the adhesion only shows when you peel it off.

Who it is for

For modelers working with an airbrush who want the base under light camouflage in a related tone and so to save one or two coats of opaque paint. It finds a use on vehicles, aircraft and figures, that is everywhere a dark base needlessly eats the lightness of the final shade.

Spray only in a ventilated space and with a respirator, ideally into an extraction booth. Keep out of the reach of children and close the bottle carefully after use.
