A detail accessory in 1:32 scale from Art Scale, made by 3D printing. It is NOT an aircraft model but a stand-alone Martin-Baker Mk.2 ejection seat including its seat belts, intended to improve the cockpit of a model of the Gloster Meteor jet in the F.8/FR.9 version. The seat replaces the original part and raises the realism of the interior considerably.

The real subject

Martin-Baker ejection seats were among the first ejection systems put into service; the Mk.2 type was used in British jets of the postwar era, including the Gloster Meteor. A faithful rendering of the seat is clearly visible in the cockpit and is among the most important details to the eye.

Building and painting tips

Carefully separate the 3D-printed parts from their supports and clean them up. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer and then paint and shade the seat; the texture of the belts comes out after a dry brush and a fine wash. This variant has the belts built into the seat itself.
