This set by Art Scale is a resin replacement for the pilot seat in a model of the P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic seat from the base kit with a more faithful and more finely cast part. The set is supplied without the seat harness, so the belts have to be added separately (photo-etched parts, fabric belts or scratch building).
The North American P-51D Mustang was an American single-seat fighter of the late Second World War, famous for its bubble canopy and its long range thanks to the Packard Merlin engine. It served above all as an escort fighter for strategic bombers. A faithfully rendered cockpit is one of the most visible details on this type.
First wash the mold release residue off the resin parts, cut the casting block away carefully and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before fitting it into the fuselage we recommend painting and weathering the seat separately; the matte interior shades stand out once the edges are picked out.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue, paints and belts are not included in the package.
