1:48 P-47D Thunderbolt Razorback One-Sided Express Fit Mask is a set of one-sided painting masks for the model of the P-47D fighter in the high-spine configuration.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks for the model of the American P-47D Thunderbolt fighter in the high fuselage spine configuration, in 1:48 scale. The one-sided version covers the outer side of the glazing. The masks are ready to be stuck straight down, so there is no cutting shapes out of tape by hand. The set contains neither a model nor paints; it is an aid to painting.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the largest and heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. It was powered by an air-cooled two-row eighteen-cylinder R-2800 Double Wasp with a turbocharger in the rear fuselage, which called for a bulky nose and long ducting. The early versions had a high fuselage spine behind the cockpit, known as the razorback; later aircraft were given a bubble canopy and a cut-down spine with a markedly better view to the rear.
Lift the masks off the sheet with the sharp point of a scalpel or with tweezers, not with your fingers. Degrease the glazing surface before sticking them down, otherwise the tape will not hold. Press the edges down thoroughly with a toothpick so that paint does not run underneath. Spray thin coats and take the mask off while the paint is dry to the touch, not after days of hardening.
The set contains painting masks only. Neither paints nor a model are included in the package.
