A complete injection-molded plastic kit of the Panzer III Ausf.J medium tank with the short 5 cm gun (L/42), in the version for the Deutsches Afrikakorps. The set is supplied as a premium package with 3D-printed tracks and fine detail parts and a turned brass gun barrel added, all of which raise the fidelity of the finished model.
The Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf.J was one of the mainstays of the German armored units in the early phases of the Second World War. The version with the KwK 38 L/42 gun served among other places in North Africa, where the Afrikakorps vehicles carried their characteristic desert camouflage. The tank was notable for good mobility and a layout that was relatively kind to the crew.
Finish and, if need be, paint the running gear before you close up the hull. Separate the 3D-printed tracks carefully and glue them with super glue. The desert tone comes to life best with dust pigments and light washes, which bring out the cast detail and the riveting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
