1:35 Chapel base

Black Dog 1:35 Chapel base

A resin diorama display base with an architectural chapel subject in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit or a vehicle, but a finished relief scene on which you place a model of a vehicle or figures and so create a vignette with a story set into it. The casting is supplied unpainted, ready for cleaning up and painting.

What the display base is for

The brick or plastered items of the chapel, the paving and the surrounding terrain give the scene its context and its scale. The base works as a compact diorama for one or two figures or a smaller vehicle, ideal for a shelf and for a competition table alike.

Building and painting tips

• Wash the mold release agent off the casting and fill any bubbles with putty.
• Spray the base with a base color, and build up the brickwork and the plaster by layering washes and a dry brush.
• Enliven the terrain with pigments, static grass and small rubble.

Who the display base is for

• Builders of vignettes and smaller dioramas in 1:35
• Figure painters looking for an atmospheric setting
• Modelers building for competitions and for a display case

This is a resin display base, not a kit. Paints, figures and vehicles are not included in the package.
