A finished collector's model of the American Lockheed T-33A jet trainer in 1:72 scale from Falcon Models. It shows a strikingly painted machine of the 18th Fighter-Bomber Wing from the South Korean base at Osan in 1953. The model is cast in metal with additional plastic parts, painted and marked, so it is neither built nor glued. It has engraved panel lines, an opening canopy and extended landing gear. A stand is included.
The T-33 came about by lengthening the fuselage of the P-80 Shooting Star fighter so that a second cockpit for an instructor would fit into it. During the Korean War these machines served with combat units as liaison, check and training aircraft and often received conspicuous paint schemes that would never have passed on a combat type. That is exactly why period T-33s are among the most colorful aircraft of the 1950s.
The metal casting is heavier than a plastic model, so stand the stand on a firm surface. Wipe the surface with a soft dry cloth; cleaning agents can damage the printed markings. Do not display the model in direct sunlight, as the bright colors of the scheme are the first to fade in the light. Handle the canopy carefully, as the hinge is the most stressed place on the model.
It is a finished painted model, not a kit. No glue or paints are needed.
