Responsibility details are not available.
A finished collector's model of the French Dassault Mirage IIIC fighter in 1:72 scale from Falcon Models, in South African Air Force markings and in the conspicuous scheme nicknamed Black Widow. The model is cast in metal with additional plastic parts, painted and marked, so it is neither built nor glued. It has engraved panel lines, an opening canopy and extended landing gear. A stand for displaying it in a flying position is included.
The South African Air Force was among the first foreign operators of the Mirage III family and flew it for decades. The machines served for air defense as well as for strike, and in later years went through an extensive upgrade because an arms embargo made buying new equipment impossible. Strikingly painted examples appeared for special occasions and are the ones collectors look for most, because the scheme on squadron aircraft was sober.
The metal casting is heavier than a plastic model, so stand the stand on a firm surface. Wipe the surface with a soft dry cloth; cleaning agents can damage the printed markings. Do not display the model in direct sunlight, as the bright colors of the scheme are the first to fade in the light. Handle the canopy carefully, as the hinge is the most stressed place on the model.
It is a finished painted model, not a kit. No glue or paints are needed.
