A photo-etched detail set, Flyhawk Admiral Scheer 1940, in 1:700 scale for refining a plastic model of the German heavy cruiser. It is not a ship model but an accessory for experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set contains photo-etched brass parts made to refine a plastic model of the German heavy cruiser Admiral Scheer as she was in 1940 markedly, in 1:700 scale. The manufacturer is Flyhawk. It is not the ship model itself but an aftermarket accessory that replaces the simplified plastic parts with fine photo-etched elements.
The Admiral Scheer was one of the so-called pocket battleships (Panzerschiff) of the Deutschland class, later reclassified as heavy cruisers. She became famous as a successful hunter of Allied merchant ships and operated, among other places, in the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean. The combination of heavy armament and long range made her a dangerous lone raider.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard mat and bend them in a bending tool or with a razor blade. Use super glue (cyanoacrylate) or a small amount of epoxy for gluing. We recommend painting the railings, radar meshes, ladders and fine platforms only once they are in place, ideally with an airbrush. Degrease the parts before painting.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a complete kit. The base plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
