Two complete kits in one package, both from the Compact Series range. They are caricatured models with a shortened fuselage and an enlarged front end, that is, a treatment in which the scale of the real machine is not kept. The subjects are two F-104 Starfighter aircraft of the Republic of China Air Force; the name designates them as the RF-104G and the TF-104B and assigns them to a project named Alishan.
The F-104 Starfighter is a single-engine supersonic aircraft, recognizable at a glance by its slim fuselage and very short, thin wings. The Republic of China Air Force, to which the name assigns both subjects, operated this type. In American designations the letter R usually goes with reconnaissance versions and the letter T with two-seat trainers, so the two subjects in the package are not identical and make sense side by side.
The goods are kits, not finished models. The parts are separated, cleaned, glued and painted according to the manufacturer's instructions; try the fit dry beforehand. With a caricatured shape it is mainly a smooth surface and the color finish that decide the result, because the detailing is deliberately simplified. Apply the paint in thin coats and sand the joints with fine paper once the glue has hardened.
