A complete set of hexagonal bolts with a washer under the head, eleven diameters from 0.3 to 1.6 mm together in one place.
Responsibility details are not available.
A hexagonal head with a washer is the most common visible fastener on real hardware. It holds armor plates, gearbox covers, tool brackets and fender extensions, and it differs from a bare bolt in the ring under the head, which spreads the load into the sheet metal. On a model that ring decides the result: the head looks seated into the surface rather than stuck onto it as an isolated dot.
The set brings together eleven part-sets, one for each head size. The steps run 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 mm, and there are 2106 pieces inside altogether, with the finest sizes the most numerous. The fine end of the scale is aimed at aviation subjects and the smaller scales, the coarser one at ground vehicles, where the fastener is meant to be seen at a glance.
The safest way is to work back from the scale. A head 0.9 mm across corresponds in 1:35 scale to a real dimension of roughly 31 mm, a typical armor-plate bolt; the same head would come to 65 mm in 1:72 scale and would look coarse. That is why it pays to have the whole range at hand and to choose the size by the particular part rather than by habit. The parts are picked up with a moistened point and seated on a dot of thin super glue.
Anyone who adds fasteners regularly soon finds that the sizes are not used up evenly. One runs out in the middle of a build in progress, and getting hold of it separately means breaking off the work. A combined package removes that problem by putting the whole range side by side and leaving the decision until the moment the part is in your hand.
