An injection-molded plastic kit of the single-seat Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the G-2 version from the Japanese brand Hasegawa. It is a limited release with decal schemes for machines of the Finnish Air Force. The model has finely engraved panel lines and is built from gray plastic with clear canopy parts.
The Bf 109G (Gustav) was the top development line of the most widespread German fighter of the Second World War. The G-2 version of 1942 was powered by the Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine and belonged among the early Gustavs, without the later cutouts and bulges. The Finnish Air Force put the Bf 109G into action from 1943 with great success; a number of Finnish aces flew the type, including the most successful of them, Ilmari Juutilainen.
Use thin plastic cement on the plastic joints, sand the parting lines down and apply a primer before painting. The colors come out best with an airbrush; the Finnish machines carried a characteristic three-color camouflage and yellow quick identification markings. Before the decals, coat the surface with a gloss varnish and flatten it once dry.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
