The smaller 1:48 scale means a quicker and clearer build with a sensible number of parts, and yet with the silhouette of the squat British tank well captured. The Challenger 2 is the main battle tank of the British Army, which entered service in the second half of the nineteen-nineties. It became famous for the exceptional level of its passive protection thanks to composite armor and for combat deployment in the Balkans and in Iraq, among other places. Its characteristic feature is the 120 mm gun with separated ammunition. The form with enhanced armor corresponds to machines fitted out for deployment in urban areas and in an environment with a heightened threat from anti-tank weapons, with side add-on panels and further protection for the hull and the turret, which give the tank a more massive appearance.
Assemble and complete the running gear and the lower hull before closing and painting. Bring desert and European camouflage to life by shading the panels, and lay down a gloss varnish under the decals. The add-on armor panels are rewarding for weathering: dark washes in the gaps and dust pigments on the lower parts and the running gear give the machine a faithful, campaign-worn look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
