A paint set listed under the designation CT01 and put together for the armored vehicles of the Israel Defense Forces. Israeli tanks and armored personnel carriers differ from European machines at first glance in that they carry no camouflage pattern: they run in a single covering shade from the light sand-gray family. That is not the end of the task, though. It is precisely on a single-color machine that every difference in tone shows, because the eye has no second color beside it to lean on.
A sand-gray shade can be mixed from an ordinary palette, but when topping the paint up or touching up a scuffed spot, the same tone is almost never hit a second time. A ready-made set gets around this problem: the shades are prepared, they can be bought again, and the whole model therefore stays in one family of tones from the start of the build to the end.
Stir the bottle smooth before work, otherwise the settled pigment stays at the bottom and the shade will not come out right. Apply thin coats and let each one become tacky; a single-color machine does not forgive a heavy coat, because it floods the engraving and the fine detail. Choose the thinner, the thinning ratio and the cleaning of the tools according to the manufacturer's data for this range. Try the shade on a piece of scrap plastic, not straight on the model.
For modelers building Israeli armored vehicles who want the color side solved in one purchase. The package holds paints. The model, thinner, varnish and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
