Liquid pigment glazes from the Liquid Pigments range, put together around warm shades. A glaze is a thin paint with fine pigment that is applied over a finished coat: it runs into the texture of the surface and into the joints, tints them once dry and pulls out the relief without hiding the color beneath it. Warm tones belong to rust, wood, leather, grease and brown dirt, that is to what soils a model most often. The product is thinned with water.
Rust marks under rivets and around welds, running down the way rain does. Wooden crates, handles, decking and floors, where a warm glaze pulls out the grain of the wood. Leather straps and seats, engine bays dirtied with oil and grease, the edges of hatches where the crew rubs past. On a figure it deepens the folds of clothing and gives the skin warmth; on a diorama it tints brick, soil and old plaster.
Shake the container, the pigment settles. Apply with a soft brush in thin coats and let each one dry; saturation can be reached by repeating. Run rust marks from the top down and blend them out with a damp brush. While the coat is wet, the excess can be lifted with a damp brush or a cloth; once dry it can only be covered with a further coat. Finally, go over the model with a varnish so that it has an even sheen and so that the applied layers last.
For modelers of vehicles, figures and dioramas who want the warm tones together. The model, brushes, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
