1:32 DFW T.28 Floh is a kit of the unusual German fighter prototype of the First World War, with photo-etched parts and masks.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German DFW T.28 fighter prototype of the First World War, in 1:32 scale. It is a new mold and, besides the plastic, the set contains photo-etched parts and painting masks. The real subject is easy to recognize among the aircraft of its time, so the finished model is impossible to miss in a display case even next to better-known types.
The T.28 came about as an attempt to build a fighter with the least possible drag and the best possible view upward, where air combat was fought at the time. The result was a very short and tall fuselage whose upper part sat right under the upper wing, so the pilot sat high with his head practically between the wings. The span was unusually small by the standards of the period. The nickname Floh, meaning flea, matched both the silhouette and the expected agility. The machine remained a prototype, because the view forward and downward was poor and its landing qualities were unsatisfactory.
Bend the photo-etched parts over a metal edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Finish the cockpit before you close the fuselage. Do the struts and the bracing wires between the wings last and tension them one at a time. German machines of the period often carried varnished wood and fabric in the shade of weathered silk, which comes out well when glazes are layered over the base tone.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
