A set of five replacement blades for a modeling knife. The edge has the shape of a chisel with a curved cutting edge, so it does not work with a point but with the whole rounded edge. That is the exact opposite approach to an ordinary pointed blade and it suits anywhere material has to be scraped or cut away over an area: when removing a mold parting line, when leveling the remains of sprue gates or when cleaning convex surfaces.
A curved chisel blade is the best tool for cleaning up curved surfaces. A straight blade digs into a convex surface and makes grooves, whereas a curved edge follows the shape and removes material evenly. It also comes into its own where old paint or an overrun of glue has to be scraped off without damaging the texture underneath. The chisel angle moreover takes pressure better than a thin point, so the blade does not break so easily during work and lasts for more jobs.
