The real subject

The P-47M was the final and fastest version of the heavy Thunderbolt fighter from the end of the Second World War. It came about in a hurry to intercept German fighters and rocket weapons, and it was marked by a more powerful Pratt & Whitney engine. It was used among other units by the 56th Fighter Group of the USAAF.

Use
