A kabuki masking set for the Handley Page Hampden TB.Mk.I in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer New Ware in the EXPERT version. The most complete level of masks for the glazing, including the inner sides, and for the wheels.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive painting masks of fine kabuki (washi) paper, cut precisely to fit the given kit. It is not a model but an aid for a perfect coat on an extensively glazed airframe. The EXPERT version is the most complete one: besides the framing and the clear parts it also contains masks for the seals and for the inner sides of the glazing, so the interior and exterior colors of the cockpit and of the greenhouse positions can be separated cleanly.
The Handley Page Hampden TB.Mk.I was the torpedo-carrying version of a British twin-engine bomber of the period of the Second World War, nicknamed the flying suitcase for its narrow fuselage. In the torpedo bomber version it served above all with RAF Coastal Command in attacks on enemy shipping.
The extensive glazing of the Hampden rewards care: seat the masks with tweezers and press the edges down thoroughly. Spray the interior shade of the cockpit first, then the exterior color. Apply the paint in thin coats and let it dry before removing them.
The set contains the painting masks only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
