Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks for a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the G-6 version, in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut from kabuki masking tape, that is, from a thin Japanese paper with a low-tack adhesive. The paper can be bent around the curve of a frame without creasing and leaves no sticky residue when it comes off. The set serves to mask the areas that are not to be sprayed. It is not a model of the aircraft and it is not decals.
The Bf 109 G-6 was the most numerously produced version of the German fighter. Its recognition feature is the bulges on the engine cover above the synchronized larger-caliber machine guns, which were nicknamed the bumps. The powerplant was the inverted V12 Daimler-Benz, that is, an engine with its cylinders set below the crankshaft. The machine served on every front and went through a series of field modifications, so individual examples differ noticeably from each other.
Lift the masks off the sheet with the sharp point of a scalpel or with tweezers, not with your fingers. Degrease the glazing before applying them, or the tape will not hold. Press the edges down thoroughly with a toothpick so that no paint runs under them. Spray thin coats and take the mask off while the paint is dry to the touch, not after days of hardening.
The set contains painting masks only. Paints and the model are not included in the package.
