A replacement nine-tooth drive sprocket in the early version for models of the Tiger II heavy tank in 1:35 scale, with a final drive housing included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Tiger II is the heaviest German tank built in series in the Second World War, known among modelers as the King Tiger. Its drive sprockets are at the front, so they are visible from every angle on a finished model and their shape is among the features by which the individual production periods are told apart. The sprocket sits on the final drive housing, that is the part through which the drive is brought out to the front of the hull.
A finished nine-tooth drive sprocket in the early version, with a final drive housing included. The teeth have sharper definition and a cleaner profile than the part from an ordinary kit, and the rim is even all the way round. The early and the later type of sprocket differ from each other, so check against photographs which version the vehicle you are building had.
If the parts are not polystyrene, ordinary cement for plastic models will not join them. Use super glue, or two-part epoxy resin on larger mating surfaces. Cut excess material and traces of manufacture away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder off carefully, so that the shape of the teeth is not damaged. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease them, otherwise the base coat will not hold. Fit the sprocket dry first and check whether the teeth engage the track links and whether both sides of the vehicle stand symmetrically.
The package holds the parts according to the name of the item. Bring your own kit, tracks, glue, paints and tools, unless stated otherwise. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the particular procedure of preparing the parts.
