A replacement nine-tooth drive sprocket in the later version for models of the Tiger II heavy tank in 1:35 scale, with a final drive housing included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The King Tiger, that is the Tiger II, was among the heaviest fighting vehicles of the Second World War, and its running gear was strained to the limit of what was possible. The drive sprockets sit at the front and transmit the engine's power to the track through the final drive, which is at the same time one of the most conspicuous parts of the front of the hull. During production the shape of the drive sprocket changed, so an early and a later version are told apart today.
A finished nine-tooth drive sprocket in the later version, with a final drive housing included. The definition of the teeth is distinct and the rim is even all the way round, which shows on a model mainly where the track runs onto the sprocket. Check against photographs of the particular machine which version your vehicle should carry; the two types are sold separately.
The material of the parts is not polystyrene, so ordinary modeling cement will not join them. Reach for super glue, or for two-part epoxy resin on larger mating surfaces. Cut excess material and traces of manufacture away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part, sand the remainder off gently and keep checking the shape of the teeth. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease them. Fit the track onto the sprocket only once the glue has dried, otherwise the joint comes loose easily.
The package holds the parts according to the name of the item. Bring your own kit, tracks, glue, paints and tools, unless stated otherwise. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the detailed procedure of preparing the parts.
