The PaK 40 was a German anti-tank gun of 7.5 cm caliber and, from 1942, the main weapon of its kind with infantry and tank units alike. The carriage with spread trails stood on the ground while firing, but for moving the gun rode on a pair of wheels with rubber tires, which could take towing by a motor vehicle. The wheels were therefore exposed to everything that came along the way, and in surviving photographs they are usually the most worn thing you see on a gun.

The version of the wheels changed during the war according to what production allowed and according to who supplied the tires, so two examples of the same gun may differ precisely here. The replacement wheels keep an exact circular outline, have a legible surface on the tire and the disc, and need no cleaning up of a joint of two halves.
If the parts are not polystyrene, ordinary cement for plastic kits will not hold on them, so use super glue or epoxy. Cut excess material and traces of manufacture away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder off so that the circular outline is preserved. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting. When painting, separate the tire from the disc: rubber is not black but rather a dark gray with a dusted surface, while the disc carries the color of the gun and scuffs down to bare metal. Finally dust the wheels with the shade of the ground the gun stands on.
