Replacement road wheels with burnt-out rubber tires for the Pz.Kpfw IV Ausf. H to J in 1:35 scale. For wrecks and vehicles after a fire.
Responsibility details are not available.
The road wheels of German tanks had a steel disc with a pressed-on rubber tire. When a vehicle burned out, the rubber burned off or fell apart and a bare disc was left, with its edge deformed by the heat and with remnants of baked-on rubber. This detail is impossible to miss in photographs of wrecks, and on a model it gives away whether the builder thought the scene through or merely built a clean tank and added smoke.
It replaces the road wheels from a kit on models of the Pz.Kpfw IV in versions H to J in 1:35 scale, that is on the most widely built versions of this tank. It suits a wreck in a diorama, a vehicle after a hit and an example laid up for towing away. The Pz.Kpfw IV has eight road wheels on each side, sixteen in all; work out from that how many parts you need for the scene you have in mind.
Cut excess material and traces of manufacture away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder off. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, choose the glue according to their material and check the particular procedure in the manufacturer's instructions. When painting, let the disc look like bare metal under a layer of rust and soot, not like a freshly painted part. Scorched wheels only make sense on a vehicle that burned out completely, so match the tracks, fenders and peeling hull paint to them as well.
Replacement wheels for 1:35 scale are supplied. A kit, tracks, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
