About product

The real subject

The Carl Gustaf is a Swedish 84 mm hand-held weapon that has served the infantry since the postwar years and is carried by dozens of armies to this day. Its English designation places it among rocket launchers, but in design it is a recoilless weapon: it is loaded from the rear, it is used repeatedly and part of the gases goes out to the back, which balances the recoil. It is precisely repeated use that sets it apart from single-shot anti-tank weapons, because one weapon in a squad can serve a whole range of munitions from anti-tank to smoke and illuminating. The version marked with the number 4 is the newest and lightest of the whole family, with a shorter barrel and with provision for modern sights.

What the set brings to a model

In 1:35 scale this weapon is one of the details a present-day scene is recognized by at first glance. Slung over the gunner's shoulder, leaned against the side of a vehicle or stored in a rack inside a carrier, it gives the equipment of a squad the scale and the mass that figures on their own do not have.

  • The Carl Gustaf weapon in version 4, 1:35 scale
  • Parts made by three-dimensional printing, as the name states
  • The subject is a Swedish 84 mm recoilless weapon
  • For figures of present-day infantry, for vehicles and for a diorama

Working with printed parts

Cut the supports away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder off, so that the barrel stays straight and its muzzle circular. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. They are not polystyrene, so reach for super glue. Keep an eye on the thin parts, that is the grips, the bipod and the sight, while handling them; once bent, they straighten badly.

Who it is for

For modelers of present-day infantry and vehicles in 1:35 scale and for makers of dioramas. Figures, the vehicle model, paints and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
