Kit of the endurance racing motorcycle Honda RS1000 in 1:12 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Honda RS1000 is a racing motorcycle for endurance events from the beginning of the 1980s, built on the basis of a production four-cylinder machine. It is powered by an inline four mounted across the frame, the layout that marked out Japanese road machines of the day. Compared with the production motorcycle, the racing machine received a stiffer chassis, stronger brakes and bodywork adapted to long runs at a high pace.
Endurance races run for eight and even twenty-four hours and with several riders, so the machine has to cope with night riding and quick work in the pits. Hence the pair of headlamps in the front of the fairing, the capacious tank and the arrangements that shorten wheel changes and refuelling. It is precisely these features that set an endurance special apart from a circuit machine for short races, and on a model in 1:12 scale they are clearly visible.
The 1:12 scale allows the engine, the frame and the brakes to be worked out in detail, because they stay exposed once the model is finished. Work from the engine and the frame, painting both before you close the assembly in with the bodywork. Protect the colored and glossy parts from fingerprints and apply the glue drop by drop, so that it does not damage the glossy surface. It pays to spray the bodywork separately, let it cure thoroughly and fit it at the very end. Wash and degrease the parts before painting.
The kit is supplied; the model is unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
