This is an aircraft decal set in 1:48 scale from the Two Bobs brand, not a kit. The sheet brings the color markings of two machines of the reserve fighter squadron VF-201 Lone Star Hunters and holds both the bold markings on the fins and a set of technical lettering and stencils. The decals are printed by Cartograf, which guarantees deep color, sharp registration and a thin carrier film.
VF-201 was a fighter squadron of the US naval reserve based at NAS Dallas in Texas. The set holds a scheme for the McDonnell Douglas F-4N Phantom II of the late 1970s and for the Grumman F-14A Tomcat, which the squadron flew later. The markings refer to the Texan identity of the unit, including the outline of the state of Texas and the AF codes on the fins.
Apply the decals over a smooth gloss coat, which prevents silvering under the film. Decal softener and setting solution will help, and once dry, cover the surface with a matte or semi-gloss clear coat to suit the character of the machine. Before you put them on, check the position of the stencils against the enclosed instructions.
It is a separate decal set. The aircraft model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
